SCV 734G – My 1968 Viva GT

I was informed about it’s whereabouts and after speaking with it’s owner and after receiving photos by post decided to head on down west country from my home in Dover, Kent with the car trailer. Following inspection the car seemed to be very solid although very green with algae and the paintwork was very flat. This was an ideal project car in my eyes and so a deal was done and the car was loaded up, strapped down and I headed for home. All in a days work, by midnight the car was locked away in the garage.

August 2003

On further inspection the front end of the car was found to be in pretty poor condition. I have been collecting the panels required for the job as follows. 1 pair of outer wings, a front panel and radiator panel. I will also be replacing the rear valence/lighting panel as the existing one is from an estate car. This car had also been fitted with an 1800cc engine. This has now been removed and I have aquired a 2300cc engine as a replacement.
